Malvinder Singh Mali, one of the four advisors to Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, courted controversy on Wednesday when he claimed Kashmir as a separate country and said both India and Pakistan were illegal occupiers.  In his tweet, Mali had said that Kashmir is a separate country and both India and Pakistan are illegal occupiers.  Kashmir belongs to the people there.  After this tweet, not only leaders of other parties, but Congress leaders also targeted Mali.

Captain Amarinder's warning on Mali's remarks

Taking strong objection to the recent remarks of Navjot Sidhu's advisor on sensitive national issues like Kashmir, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday warned against making such remarks.  He has described such statements as potentially dangerous to the peace and stability of the state.  Captain Amarinder Singh asked Sidhu's advisor to continue advising the PPCC president and not to speak on matters of which he apparently had little or no knowledge.  Sidhu has recently appointed him as his advisor.
