The National Control Bureau zonal team has arrested a total of 3 accused including the mastermind on the information of 2 smugglers caught with 36 thousand narcotic pills. A total of 24 thousand narcotic pills have been recovered from the arrested accused.
The arrested accused have been identified as mastermind Naveen Gupta, resident of Katra Sher Singh and his companions Sonu and Harsh, residents of Gate Hakima.
This operation has been going on for a week. A week ago, the team arrested 2 accused Sukhpal Singh and Harvinder Singh, residents of Beas, with 36 thousand narcotic pills from Baba Bakala. Following this, on the information given by them, 3 accused including the mastermind were arrested.
Accused Naveen has a medicine shop in Katra Sher Singh. In the year 2021, a case of 16 thousand narcotic pills was registered against Naveen. Accused Naveen was arrested but he came out on bail and started doing this illegal business again. These narcotic pills were brought from Jammu and Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh.
