Shaheen Bagh, Delhi: The Narcotics Control Bureau has got a big success. NCB has busted a big drug-smuggling syndicate in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh which includes people of Afghan, Pakistani and Indian origin.
It is an Indo-Afghan syndicate. Narcotics Control Bureau has seized drugs worth about Rs 400 crore.
DDG Dnyaneshwar Singh said that while working on a secret operation, 50 kg of heroin and 47 kg of suspected narcotics have been recovered from a house raided in Shaheen Bagh and Jamia areas of Delhi. Also, Rs 30 lakh cash and note counting machine have been recovered.
It has been found in the investigation that this heroin was secretly brought to India through the sea and the Pakistan border by making a cavity in the branches of the tree.
Also, NCB suspects that the recovered cash has also been brought to India through hawala.
DDG Operations Sanjay Kumar Singh told that the wires of this international syndicate in Hindustan are connected to different cities of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The consignments of the recovered drugs were kept in jute bags in different quantities.
Also, DDG NCB Dnyaneshwar Singh told that even before this, this syndicate has brought India by hiding drugs in different items. The people associated with this syndicate specialize in the manufacturing and adulting of heroin, which they sometimes use to dodge the NCB and other investigative agencies.
Apart from this, NCB officials said that an Indian-origin person associated with this syndicate has been arrested, while the investigation is still going on in other cities.
The traces of recovered heroin and other drugs match the heroin recovered recently near the Attari border. Soon NCB can make a big disclosure with some arrests regarding this Indo-Afghan syndicate.
There are provisions for different punishments under the NDPS Act 1985 in the case of drugs. In this, there is a provision for one year under section 15, 10 under section 24 and a fine from one lakh to two lakh rupees and under section 31A, there is a provision for the death penalty.
