The Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 was announced on June 4 and the BJP failed to win even a single seat in Punjab. On the other hand, radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh and Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, the son of one of the assassins of Indira Gandhi, won the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 as independent candidates. While Amritpal Singh who is currently in jail over sedition charges won from Khadoor Sahib, Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa won from Faridkot. Amritpal Singh won the Khadoor Sahib by a margin of 1,97,120 votes over his nearest rival and Congress candidate Kulbuir Singh Zira while Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa won in Faridkot by 70,053 over AAP's Karamjit Singh Anmol.
On the occasion of Operation Bluestar's 40th anniversary, Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa arrived at the Golden Temple and addressed the media on various issues. During the brief media interaction, Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa was asked whom will he extend support to NDA or INDIA alliance when the parliament officially starts working. On this, Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa said, "I have won by the blessings of Faridkot Sangat. I will take advice from Sangat. I cannot tell you the offers they have given me. They are giving me multiple things in the offer. But, I have rejected their offers in the past."
On being asked whether he would extend his support to the Congress, Sarabjeet said, "Yes, I cannot support them (Congress who ordered military operation on Golden Temple). My father took revenge because of the incident. My father sacrificed everything for the Sikh community. Then, how can we give our support to them?"
'Murder charges against people participating in desecration of Guru Granth Sahib'
