India’s Lok Sabha Elections will be entering into the last and 7th phase on 1st June 2024. The results will be announced on 4th June 2024. Various political experts have made many predictions regarding the results of upcoming LS Polls. The elections started being one-sided, however, the dynamics have changed in the last phases of the elections. It has become quite difficult for political experts to predict which alliance will come into power. The voting percentage in some states of India is very high whereas in some states its quite low. This is the reason why it is making the victory predictions difficult. The two main alliances in Lok Sabha Elections are NDA including BJP and INDIA including Congress and 17 other parties.
If the results announced on 4th June make INDIA as the winning alliance, then there will be different candidates likely to be the PM of India. Here is the list of likeable candidates that can contest for the PM’s seat if INDIA wins the poll.
Mallikarjun Kharge
Mallikarjun Kharge hails from Karnataka. He is the Congress President, Chairperson of INDIA alliance and a popular Dalit face. He is considered as the favourite member of Sonia Gandhi in Congress. Apart from this, he enjoys popularity in the main parties of the alliance namely DMK, and RJD. If Congress wins less than 100 seats then he can be considered as a good option for PM’s seat. If he becomes the PM of India, he may turn out to be ‘Silent Prime Minister’ like Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Rahul Gandhi
There is only one way that Rahul Gandhi can be a suitable candidate for PM’s seat. If Congress wins 150 or more than 150 seats in elections then he can be a good candidate for PM as the party will not have to depend on any other alliances. Also, directly or indirectly, Gandhi family has been the popular face during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Mamata Banerjee
Currently, she is not the part of INDIA alliance and has also stated that she’ll not be attending any meeting of the alliance starting from June 1. However, if Mamata Banerjee defeats BJP in Bengal by a great margin then she can be the candidate for PM’s seat. If Mamata Banerjee has around 20-25 MPs in her favour then there are chances of her becoming the PM of country. To stop BJP from coming in power, she can be a good choice.
Akhilesh Yadav
The chief of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav is battling straightaway with BJP in Uttar Pradesh. While he is not in the race to become PM, there are chances he can be the candidate. Is it said that during elections, the party that wins in UP is likely to make government in centre. Out of 543 seats 80 are of UP. If Samajwadi Party wins over BJP in UP and gets around 40 seats out of 80, then there are chances of seeing Akhilesh Yadav as India’s PM. During the last elections, BJP won 64 out of 80 seats in UP.
Arvind Kejriwal
AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is contesting on approximately 23 seats. As the seats are quite low in number so even if he wins on all seats there will be no drastic change. However, if the decision of PM’s seat goes on consensus, then alliance members might consider Arvind Kejriwal as a suitable candidate.
Uddhav Thackeray
Uddhav Thackeray who heads Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) is also likely to be the PM if INDIA wins the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. There are chances that his time Uddhav Thackeray’s UBT might win in Maharashtra. There are chances that it will make BJP lose its hold on Maharashtra. If Uddhav Thackeray gets a good number of MPs supporting him then he can also be announced as PM candidate. However, political experts feel that Uddhav Thackeray will never leave Maharashtra’s seat at any cost.
All these candidates are likely to be the candidate for PM’s seat if INDIA wins the upcoming Lok Sabha 2024 elections. These faces have been quite popular throughout out the election campaign. But there are chances that some names for PM’s seat might be surprise for the nation as well.
