Neena Gupta wrote about her relationship with Shankar Nag in her memoir, stating that the Girish Karnad-directed film featured a few personal sequences with the actor. "Our conversations before the scene had been cordial but not very pleasant," she wrote about the scenes. However, after the incident, we began to feel more at ease in each other's company.
I believe the discomfort of doing a lovemaking scene with someone you've just just met might occasionally be the beginning of a lovely friendship." She said.
In her words, she summed up her relationship with the late actor: "Shankar Nag and I had been close friends for a long time. He was a truly nice person. He was well-known, but he never pretended to be someone else in front of his friends. He was a 'yaaron ka yaar'. Even though he was a successful person himself, he never made a distinction between friends who were famous and those who were struggling."
Shankar Nag died in 1990 at the age of 35. He directed and acted in the popular television series Malgudi Days, which was based on RK Narayan's short writings. He appeared in films like as Ondanondu Kaladalli, Geetha, Nodi Swamy Navirodu Hige, Accident, and Minchina Ota, among others.
