It seems like the wind is changing in terms of the NEET Exam 2024 controversy as the spotlight has now been sifted to the opposition party Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD). For a few days, the opposition INDIA block has been slapping the Modi government for failing to conduct a free and fair NEET Exams 2024. There are multiple controversies related to NEET Exams 2024. While the NTA has already announced that it will take re-exams of students who got grace marks in the Supreme Court, the students are demanding to cancel the exam entirely and re-conduct the exam for every student. The Education Ministry said that the issue related to grace marks has already been fully addressed. As regards certain irregularities alleged in the conduct of the examination in Patna, a detailed report has been sought from the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar Police. Who is Preetam Kumar, Tejaswi Yadav's PS?
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Thursday claimed that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav's aide Preetam Kumar was linked to the alleged paper leaks and the malpractices of the NEET-UG 2024 row. Bihar Deputy CM Sinha revealed that Sikandar Yadvendu was arrested in the NEET question paper leak case, is a close relative of Preetam Kumar, the personal secretary of former Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
"Sikandar Yadvendu is a close relative of Tejashwi Yadav's PS Pritam Kumar. An NHAI guest house was booked for Sikandar's sister Reena Yadav and son Anurag Yadav to stay on May 4. A phone number and 'Mantri Ji' were mentioned in the diary of the NHAI guest house. The investigating agency is making efforts to know the identity of this Mantri Ji," said Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha.
Notably, Bihar Police (EOU)is investigating the NEET Paper leak case and they are investigating who is the 'Mantri Ji' involved in the case.
Talking about who is Preetam Kumar, the 52-year-old is an officer of the Bihar Administrative Service. In August 2022, he got a new posting and was made Tejashwi Yadav's private secretary (government). Preetam's father's name is Subhash Chandra Nirala. He is a resident of Munger, Bihar.
Sikandar Prasad Yadavendu is a junior engineer in Danapur Municipal Council. He had booked guest house rooms in the name of his nephew Anurag. Police have arrested both Anurag and Sikandar. Sikandar is believed to be the mastermind of the entire incident. He had planned to keep the examinees in the guest house and make them memorize the paper with the help of the gang.
Anurag also said in his statement to the police that Sikandar is his uncle. He had brought them to the guest house and they were made to memorize the paper overnight. In their confession, Sikandar and Anurag said that the accused in the paper leak case, Amit Kumar Anand and Nitish Kumar, had told him that he leaked the papers of NEET, BPSC, and UPSC along with other competitive exams and made the candidates memorize them.
