Bollywood Singer Neha Kakkar who is the judge of the singing reality show Indian Idol, donated Rs 5 lakh to veteran Bollywood lyricist Santosh Anand after the lyricist opened up about his financial struggles and has incurred debts. In the upcoming episode of Indian Idol 12, Anand will feature as a guest with musician Pyarelal of the legendary composer duo of Laxmikant-Pyarelal.
Anand, in the past, has worked with the duo in classics as Prem Rog, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan and Shor, among others.
During the episode, Anand revealed that he is facing tough monetary situations, an emotional Neha was moved by his story and announced that she will help him with the financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh and also requested people from the industry to help him during these hard times.
An emotional Neha says: "I would like to give you Rs 5 lakh as a small gesture and would also like to request the Indian entertainment industry to give Santosh Ji some work as he has been such a crucial part of our industry. We must help our colleagues in their bad times."

Neha’s co-judge, music composer Vishal Dadlani, then asked Anand to share a few of his songs with him, which he will help him to release.
In the episode, Neha will be seen singing some of Anand's timeless creation like Ek Pyaar ka naghma hai, which he had penned for Manoj Kumar film Shor in 1972 and Laxmikant-Pyarelal had originally recorded the song in two versions, in the voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh.
