Nepal Earthquake Today: In a shocking development, strong earthquakes were felt in three countries including Nepal on Tuesday morning. The magnitude of the earthquake in Nepal was 7.1 on the Richter scale. Tremors were also felt in many areas of India including Bihar, Sikkim, Assam, and West Bengal. An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude was recorded in Tibet.

Around 6.40 a.m., earthquake tremors were felt in many districts of Bihar, Motihari, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Siwan, Araria, Supaul, and Muzaffarpur. The earth kept shaking in some parts of North Bengal, including Malda and Sikkim. It is said that the earth kept shaking for five seconds. People started coming out of their houses in fear after feeling the earthquake tremors. According to USGS Earthquakes, the earthquake's magnitude in Nepal was 7.1 on the Richter scale.

As per reports, thirty-two people were killed after an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 hit Tibet near the Nepalese border today. The tremors of the earthquake were felt in several parts of India, including Bihar, Assam and West Bengal. Nepal is located in a geologically active region, where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates collide, forming the Himalayas and making earthquakes a frequent occurrence. In 2015, nearly 9,000 people died and more than 22,000 were injured when a 7.8-magnitude quake struck Nepal, destroying more than half a million homes.
