In a tragic development, Saurya Airlines aircraft on Wednesday crashed during takeoff at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal's Kathmandu. There were 19 people on board when Saurya Airlines aircraft crash took place. 19 people including air staff were aboard the Pokhara-bound plane which met with the accident at around 11 am. As per initial reports, the Saurya Airlines airplane had caught fire and was "releasing a significant plume of smoke".
The pilot of the aircraft has been taken to a hospital. A fire that broke out from the aircraft was extinguished. Police and firefighters are currently carrying out rescue operations at the accident site. Details about the condition of the passengers or any deaths are not known yet. However, a newswire stated that 18 bodies had been recovered. It is also reported that the small plane caught fire after skidding of runway in Nepal.
