The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is under the scanner after the civic body partly demolished Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's office. Maharashtra former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called the action by BMC based on the vendetta. The BMC did not only stop there, it has also filed a fresh plea to demolish Kangana's Khar house.
Now, the BMC has been facing a lot of criticism after news broke out that it gave 7 days notice period to celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra on the same kind of case. Going by the reports, the BMC gave fashion designer Manish Malhotra seven days to respond to a show-cause notice while actor Kangana Ranaut was given just 24 hours to respond to a notice for the same reason following which demolition proceedings were initiated by the local body.
The BMC issued a show-cause notice to fashion designer Manish Malhotra for illegally turning a residential space into a commercial property. Malhotra has been given seven days to respond to the notice.
The reports also reveal that Kangana had asked a time period of seven days from the BMC to present all the papers, however, the local body refused it and partly demolished her office till the Bombay High Court ordered a stay on the demolition.
This Is How The Social Media Reacted:
A user wrote, "Manish Malhotra's office is right on top of Kangana's office and that has not been touched. Wow, hypocrisy at its greatest."
