In a horrific development, a major fire broke out at a coaching center near the Batra Cinema complex in the Mukherjee Nagar area of New Delhi on Thursday. The tragic fire incident broke out around 12 pm at a coaching institute named Sanskriti Coaching Centre and the panic call about the fire was received around 12:27 pm by the Delhi Fire Department. Following the call, 11 fire tenders were sent to the spot to control the fire and save the students stuck inside it.
As per initial information, the fire first broke out in an electric meter that was not big in size. However, the children present inside the building panicked and started to escape bu sing wires from the back of the building while the smoke engulfed the building. The Delhi Fire Department was quoted saying, "Due to the panicking movement, four students were injured." So far, all persons have been rescued from the building and firefighting operations have been concluded with no major injuries.
However, Mukherjee Nagar's fire incident video is going viral on social media with netizens in shock by the visuals that show how the students used wires to escape from the coaching center. For the unversed, Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar is famous for its coaching institutions and thousands of students do preparation for government jobs. Coming to the viral video, students were seen climbing down to the building safely using wire cables. As students feared for their safety, smoke was seen rising from the topmost part of the building.
