State Bureau, Lucknow. If a student leaves his studies midway through medical and dental colleges, he will not be given admission in the next academic session. This rule has been implemented for students studying undergraduate, postgraduate, and superspecialty courses. New rules have been implemented on the instructions of the National Medical Commission (NMC). At the same time, students who leave their studies midway will no longer be fined Rs 5 lakh.
These instructions were issued to all medical and dental colleges across the state on Friday by the Director General of Medical Education, Kinjal Singh. In such a situation, now the students taking admission in courses like MBBS, MD, MS, MCH, BDS, and MDS will have to think many times before leaving their studies midway. Till now, he used to leave his studies midway by paying a fine of Rs 5 lakh and taking admission to other courses in the next session.
If he does this, he will have to wait for one year for admission, as he will be debarred from admission in the next session. NMC has implemented this rule for the academic session 2024–25. This rule will not apply to students who were admitted in the previous academic session. They will be able to leave the seat by paying a fine, and they will not be considered debarred for admission in the next session.

25 students who were allotted seats in three phases of the stray vacancy round in MBBS and BDS courses in the last session did not take admission. Among them, 17 are MBBS students, and eight are BDS students. Now they will not get an opportunity to participate in the admission process for MBBS and BDS in this academic session. Their security deposit has also been seized.
