New train services to commence this summer season: KNOW routes and schedules

The Indian Railways’ Central Railway zone has introduced new train routes to cater to the travel demands during the upcoming summer season.

The Indian Railways’ Central Railway (CR)  zone has commenced new train routes to fulfill the travel demands during the summer season. 

In this upcoming summer season, CR will launch around 498 new trains, bringing the total number of trains to approximately 854 trains. It is to be noted that this count also includes 278 unreserved trains, which will assist in managing extra commuters. 

Details about the Summer Special Train for 2025: 

As many as 854 trains will be started by the Indian Railways CR Zone. The major regions to be covered will be Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and a few nearby regions. 

The main purpose of the launch of these trains is to manage the increased passenger flow during the summer vacations. 

Train Routes and Schedules - 

Mumbai CSMT - Nagpur 
Bi-weekly Special Train, 50 trips from April 6 to June 29. 

Train No 02139
The train will depart at 12:20 am every Tuesday and Sunday and will arrive at Nagpur at 3:30 pm. 

Train No 02140
This is a return train of 02139, which starts its journey from Nagpur at 8:00 pm and will reach CSMT at 1:30 pm, the next day. 

The train stops at stations including - Dadar, Thane, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Akola, Wardha, and more. 

Mumbai (LTT) - Thiruvananthapuram 
Weeking Train, 18 trips from April 3 to May 29.

Train No 01063
The train will start its journey at 4:00 pm from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) every Thursday and will reach Thiruvananthapuram at 10:45 pm the next day.

Train No 01064
The train will start its journey from Thiruvananthapuram at 4:20 pm every Saturday and will reach LTT at 12:45 am on the third consecutive day.

The common halts for the train will be Panvel, Ratnagiri, Mangaluru Junction, Madgaon, Ernakulam Town, and more.

Pune - Nagpur 
Weekly AC superfast train, 24 trips from April 8 to June 24

Train No 01469
The train will start its journey from Pune at 3:50 pm every Tuesday and will reach Nagpur at 6:30 am the next day. 

Train No 01470
The train will start its journey at 8:00 am every Wednesday from Nagpur and will reach Pune at 1:30 pm. 

Mumbai (LTT) - Danapur
Bi-weekly train, 50 trips from April 7 to June 30

Train No 01009
The train will start its journey from LTT at 12:15 pm every Monday and Saturday and will reach Danapur at 5:00 pm the next day. 

Train No 01010 
The train will start its journey from Danapur at 7:00 pm every Tuesday and Sunday and will reach LTT at 4:40 am, on the third consecutive day. 

The halts include Nashik Road, Jalgaon, Itarsi, Katni, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, and more. 

Daund - Kalaburagi 
Unreserved train, 180 trips from April 5 to July 2.

Train No 01421
The train will start its journey from Daund at 5:00 am every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and will reach Kalaburagi at 11:20 am. 

Train No 01422
The journey will start from Kalaburagi at 4:10 pm and will arrive at Daund at 10:20 pm, on the same day. 

The key stops include Bhigwan, Kurduwadi, Solapur, Dudhani, and Ganagapur. 

How to book these Summer Special Trains 2025

To make a reservation for these Summer Special Trains, an individual has to go to all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters on the official IRCTC websites. The unreserved tickets can be obtained from UTS on mobile apps or station counters.
