New Year's Eve in Jalandhar: Fireworks timing and what will be closed after 12 am?

New Year's Eve has been buzzing in India and around the world. People are now in the party and holiday mood to welcome the New Year 2025. Punjab is also braced up to witness some of the biggest events. The top among them are Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-Luminati India Tour 2024 finale in Ludhiana. In the meanwhile, the Jalandhar Administration has also made special arrangements to ensure the law & order of the city remain peaceful. Not only this, but the Jalandhar administration has also released celebratory firework timings and even guidelines for it. Furthermore, the Jalandhar administration has issued a guidelines for late night party lovers. 

Jalandhar New Year's Eve: Firework timings

Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Ankur Gupta has issued a notification which reads- 

  • No person shall sell fireworks from any premises other than those licensed under these rules.
  • Firecrackers shall not be busted or lighted at any time in Silence Zone (i.e. near Hospital, Educational Institutions etc.) and within the limits of Suchi Pind and in the area of five hundred yards of IOC, BPCL and HPCL Oil Terminals. 
  • Complete ban on imported firecrackers in the shape of toys/electronic goods.
  • The licensee holder shall sell crackers with reduced emission (improved crackers) and green crackers. 
  • If fireworks start around midnight, i.e. 12:00 a.m., it would be from 11:55 p.m. till 12:30 a.m. only
  • On the Occasion of Gurpurab, fireworks shall be allowed for one hour in the morning i.e., 4:00 am to 5:00 am and one hour in the evening i.e., 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

New Year's Eve Jalandhar: What will be closed after midnight?

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ankur Gupta, exercising powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, has ordered all restaurants, clubs and other such licensed establishments to be closed by 12 midnight.

  • No order for food, beverages etc. shall be taken after 11:30 pm in any restaurant, club, or other licensed eatery within the limits of Police Commissionerate Jalandhar
  • No new customer shall be allowed to enter the restaurant, club or other licensed eatery.
  • Premises adjoining liquor shops should be completely closed by 12 midnight or as per the license conditions.
  • All institutions are to adhere to the sound level limit of 10 (A) db. 
  • All sources of sound generation including DJs, live orchestras/singers should turn off their sound by 10 pm or reduce it to a minimum. The sound generated inside any building or premises after 10 pm should not be heard outside the boundary wall.
  • In case of vehicles equipped with music systems, the sound generated from the music system should not be heard outside the vehicle at any time of the day.
