What is a Partial Lunar Eclipse?
When the Sun, Earth and Moon are not in a straight line, then at that time light falls on the half part of the moon because only half part of the moon is covered by Earth’s shadow. This is called the Partial Lunar Eclipse.
This is the last Lunar Eclipse of the year. The Second Lunar Eclipse 2024, will take place on 18th september 2024. Talking about Chandra Grahan Time, it will start from morning 06:11 am to 10:17 am. The Chandra Grahan Time duration for the eclipse is 4 hours and 6 minutes.
The eclipse will be visible in Europe, Africa, Northern-Southern America, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean and in a few places of Antarctica and Arctic. However, second Lunar Eclipse 2024 Eclipse will not be visible from India.
The sutak period will start from 9 hours before the eclipse. During this time, temples shall remain closed and pregnant women need to maintain caution as it is harmful for them.
