The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the toll rate at Ladowal Toll Plaza, which is already known as the country’s most expensive national highway toll. The new Ladowal Toll Plaza prices will be implemented from April 1 and it will indeed add financial strain on vehicle owners and daily commuters. As per reports, the new toll rate list released by the National Highway Authority charges at Ladowal Toll Plaza will be hiked by 5%, effective from midnight on March 31.
Ladowal Toll Plaza is infamous for charging higher toll fees than most other plazas across the country. Below are Ladowal Toll Plaza New and Old Rates-
- Cars: Rs 230 for a one-way trip. Previously, it was Rs 220. Rs 345 for a round trip, previously it was Rs 330.
- Light Vehicles: Rs 370 for one-way trip. Previously it was Rs 355). Rs 555 for round trip but previously it was Rs 535
- Buses & Trucks: Rs 775 for one-way, but previously it was Rs 745). Rs 1160 for round trip but previously it was Rs 1120.
- Commercial Vehicles: Rs 845 for one-way but previously it was Rs 815). Rs 1265 for round trip, but previously it was Rs 1225.
- HCS 6 Axle Vehicles: Rs 1215 for one-way but previously it was Rs 1170). Rs 1820 for round trip, but previously it was Rs 1755.
- Oversized Vehicles: Rs 1475 for one-way, but previously, it was Rs 1425). Rs 2215 for round trip, but previously, it was Rs 2140.
Additionally, monthly pass rates for frequent commuters will also see a rise.
Speaking on the matter, Ladowal Toll Plaza Manager Deependra Singh stated that the toll rate hike is in accordance with National Highway Authority guidelines, which mandate annual toll revisions. He confirmed that the new rates will be applicable from April 1 and will be charged to all vehicles crossing the plaza from that date onward. Despite growing public frustration, the National Highway Authority maintains that such increments are routine and necessary for road maintenance and infrastructure development.
