Concerned over the second wave of the covid19 in the state and rising number of cases in the district, the Jalandhar DC Ghanshyam Thori exercising his rights under CrPC 1973 Section144 and National Disaster Management Act, 2005, has ordered night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am starting from today onwards.
The curfew has been announced in order to prepare an integrated management plan for treatment of the disease at government and private facilities.
The decision has come after chief secretary Vini Mahajan today chaired a high-level meeting with the DC’s of Punjab to review the covid situation in Punjab. “It is also expected that by evening that government might announce other decisions to control the spread”, say sources.
