The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 started with a bang in Perth's Optus Stadium with Team India defeating Australia in their den. By defeating Australia in the first Tests, Team India is now enjoying a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series. The second Test is in Adelaide, for which Rohit Sharma & Co. have reached Canberra on Thursday for preparation. However, India allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was stopped by an Australian Security Guard.

Team India on Thursday went to the Australian Parliament to meet the Australian PM Anthony Albanese. However, when Team India players were boarding the bus that took them to the Australian Parliament, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was stopped by the security official. Ray Sportz Cricket live-streamed Team India players' departure from the hotel in Canberra to the Australian Parliament. While other Team India players like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Yashaswi Jaiswal quietly boarded the team bus, Nitish Kumar Reddy was abruptly stopped by the Australian Security.

While fans were screaming and wishing Rohit Sharma & Co 'best of luck', an Australian security official stopped Reddy who observed that the allrounder was keeping something in his hand and pocket. In an unclear audio, the Australian security official can heard asking Nitish Reddy if he is carrying something in his pocket. One of the words that can be heard is 'Cash'. So, it can be assumed that the Australian security official asked Reddy if he is carrying 'cash' in his pocket.

Nitish then said something that did not get caught on the audio. In response, the Australian security says, "You don't have to do mate." Thereafter, Reddy then went back to the Team Hotel to empty his pocket so that he could board the Team bus again with security clearance.

It may be said that since Team India was going to meet Australian PM, the protocol was not take anything else to the Australian Parliament. However, no statement has been issued as of now over the incident.
