Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday told NDTV that there is no chance of schools in Delhi reopening soon. As the national capital is fighting the third wave of coronavirus and also the most critical one, Sisodia said that no parent would want to risk the health and life of their kids during such times.
Schools across the city have remained shut since March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Sisodia said, "No chances of schools opening soon. No parent would want to send their children until they are assured that they will be safe.”
In October the APP government announced that all schools in the city would continue to remain closed until further notice and the decision was taken based on feedback from parents.

Earlier Mr Sisodia said, "We keep getting feedback from parents that they are concerned about whether it is safe to reopen schools. It is not (safe to reopen).”
Delhi has been hit by an unpleasant swell in fresh Covid cases over the past few weeks adding over one lakh since November 1. Burning of stubble and the festive season has been the reason behind the surge.
