In the coming time, recording calls on android phones can stop. Although it will not stop completely soon there will be variations in the google policy. The play store policy of google has been updated recently, in which the audience can expect many changes. All these changes might be implemented from 11th May. All the changes which are being made in the play store policy will have a major impact on the call recording application which is available on play store.
All the changes can be expected with the new google play store policy. One such change will be that the accessibility API won’t be able to request remote call audio recordings. This feature will not allow the other apps to record any calls. The apps which won’t be able to record calls can be Truecaller, Cube ACR, Automatic call Recorder and some other popular apps that might also not work.
If by any chance the android phone user, has the call recording feature by default then it can be used even if the changes are made in the policy. The ones with this feature can still record calls easily. As per Google, the phones which have a pre-loaded call recording app or feature will not require any accessibility permission. This is how the native call recording will still work.
A presenter at a Google webinar said “if the app is the default dialer on the phone and is also pre-loaded, the accessibility capability id not required to access the incoming audio stream’. The users who have Xiaomi mobile phones don’t have to worry because the Google pixel and Xiaomi phones come with default call recorders on their dialer apps.
The smartphones like Samsung Galaxy A12, Reality C25, Oppo K10, and OnePlus android phones have a call recording system. But if those calls are being recorded without your permission then it is a threat to your privacy. But, in some special cases, it becomes important to call records like in customer care centers. That is why the person on the call is pre-informed about the recording of the call. On the other hand, it is completely illegal to record calls in Europe, this is the reason why Xiaomi phones sold in Europe don’t have a call recording feature.
