Bharat Biotech, manufacturer of Covaxin has refused to supply the vaccine to New Delhi. Now around 100 newly set up vaccination centers at the government schools would administer Covishield only.
The Kejriwal government said, as for now there is no idea about the availability of Covaxin in the city as Bharat Biotech has refused to supply the covid vaccine to Delhi.

The state administration, with Delhi Municipal Corporation (DMCs), has set up 128 vaccination centers in 17 government schools in the different parts of the city for phase three of the vaccination drive.
On Wednesday, in a press conference, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told the media, “Delhi government has demanded 67 lakh Covaxin. Manufacturing company Bharat Biotech in a letter to Delhi government on May 12 refused and said that it won’t supply.”
Manish Sisodia read out the part of the reply in the letter while addressing the press conference and said, “We are making dispatches as per the directive of the concerned Government officers. We, therefore, sincerely regret that we cannot make any additional supply demanded by the Delhi government.”

The Delhi government has raised an alarm about the vaccine shortage on Tuesday. A total of 1,39,261 doses are administered in New Delhi in the last 24 hours, which is the highest till date.
Vaccination centers will now continue the drive with the Covishield, manufactured by the Serum Institute India (SII). Delhi government will receive a supply of 2,67,690 doses of the Covid vaccine on Wednesday.
