A non-bailable warrant has been issued against the Aam Aadmi Party MLA Professor Baljinder Kaur. The warrant has been issued by the Chandigarh District Court about the 2-year-old case. Reportedly, this warrant has been issued against her for not appearing in court for the last two years about the case.
Earlier also warrants were issued against the MLA but were bailable, this time a warning was given after which a non-bailable warrant has been issued against MLA Baljinder Kaur. The charge sheet was filed by the police last year only.
The incident against which the case was registered took place in January 2020 when hundreds of AAP MLAs and leaders surrounded the residence of the Chief Minister while protesting. During this protest, they got into a scuffle with the police after which the case was registered against them. It includes the mention of renowned MLAs including CM Bhagwant Mann. The accused have been booked under sections 147, 149, 332, and 353. The case was registered by the Sector-3 Chandigarh Police Station.
MLA Baljinder Kaur is a senior member of the Aam Aadmi Party. She was also in the race for a minister, although she did not get that position. Till now no official statement has been given by the Aam Aadmi Party and MLA upon the same.
