As per the latest information that has come to fore, a non-bailable warrants have been issued against Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and leader Virsa Singh Valhota. The court has released orders to appear today itself and if they fail to do so strict action would be initiated against them.
The case under which Sukhbir Singh Badal was booked dates back to 1 August 2021 when Friends and Company lodged a complaint against him. In the complaint they stated that Sukhbir Singh Badal along with his accomplices intimidated the workers working on mining site in Beas River and also ignored COVID rules that were to be followed. Soon after this, Beas Police Station filed a case against them under 269, 270, 188, 341, 506 IPC besides 3 Epidemic Diseases Act 1897.
The matter was earlier tried in the Baba Bakala Sahib Court but as Sukhbir Singh Badal was an MP, the case was shifted to Amritsar District Court. Even after numerous summons, Sukhbir Singh Badal did not appear into the court after which non-bailable warrants were issued for against Sukhbir Badal and Virsa Singh Valtoha today for November 3.
Apart from these two, other accused in the same case involve former MLA Amarpal Singh Boney, Kanwaljit Singh, Baljit Singh, Chanchal Singh, Chamkaur Singh, Kashmir Singh, Tarsem Singh, Manjinder Singh, Balwinder Singh And the name of Santokh Singh etc.
