After a patient two-year wait, Ludhiana has unveiled North India's pioneering dog park, offering a haven for pets and their owners to cherish quality moments without restraint. Situated in Block-D of Bhai Randhir Singh (BRS) Nagar, the dog park's inauguration was graced by MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi and MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi. It proudly marks Ludhiana as home to North India's inaugural dog park, joining the ranks of Mumbai and Hyderabad, which host the country's first two such facilities.
This groundbreaking park boasts a range of amenities, including agility and training equipment like hurdles and tunnels, as well as designated obedience training zones to foster canine development, ensuring both mental and physical stimulation. Notably, a cutting-edge swimming pool has been incorporated into the park's offerings. In addition, plans are in motion to introduce a pet cafe, pet boarding, pet grooming, and other facilities in the near future.
Senior veterinary officer Dr. Harbans Dhalla highlighted that this project takes inspiration from dog parks established in foreign countries, aligning with global standards. The park will remain open from 6 am to 11 pm, with a nominal fee of ₹40 for pet owners to access these exceptional facilities. Ludhiana's dog park sets a new standard for pet-friendly spaces in North India.
