Lok Sabha Member Sushil Kumar Rinku on Saturday said that the halt of New Delhi-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express will not only benefit Jalandhar district but the entire Doaba region, especially NRIs, Industrialists and Traders of this area. The MP was travelling in this train along with his family and other party leaders during its maiden run wherein he was interacting with the media persons during an event at Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station.
Mr. Rinku said that being a Lok Sabha member from the Jalandhar Parliamentary constituency, it was his responsibility to make concerted efforts to get this train a halt in Jalandhar. Now, he is happy that his efforts have yielded fruitful results as this train has finally got a halt at Jalandhar. Notably, the Member Parliament Sushil Kumar Rinku had met the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on this issue continuously so that NRI and Industrial hub Jalandhar can get a halt of this train here. He was travelling with his wife Sunita Rinku, MP Sant Balvir Singh Seechewal, MLA Indrajit Kaur Mana, MLA Raman Arora, MLA Sheetal Angural, Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Amritpal Singh, Dinesh Dhall, Mangal Singh, Rana Hardeep, Jeet Lal Bhatti, Principal Prem Kumar, Pinder Singh Pandori, Harjinder Ladda, Kamaljit Bhatia, Parvesh Tangri, Major Singh, Subhash Goria, and other dignitaries.
Mr. Rinku lashed out at Punjab BJP leaders for doing politics on this train and dared them to get the funds worth Rs. 8000 crore released from Union Government, if they are true well-wishers of Punjabis. He said that the Union Government has held the funds of Punjab including rural development funds, health mission funds and other prominent schemes. He categorically mentioned that these funds are meant to put the state's development on a high-growth trajectory as it is Punjab’s right but the centre was trying to deprive the state from this right.
While expressing displeasure on the exclusion of Punjab’s tableau for Republic Day Parade, Mr. Rinku said that Punjab's contribution is unparalleled in the country's freedom struggle, which can never be forgotten. Punjabis have laid their lives for this country, but the central government has expressed disrespect to Punjabis by disapproving the tableau of our state. He further stated that the Central Government was completely scared of seeing the wave of development in Punjab and trying to suppress the leadership of the party by misusing agencies like ED. Mr. Rinku said AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal has emerged from a struggle and the union government cannot suppress him with such acts as the entire leadership of Aam Aadmi Party is standing by them.
