In a major development in the murder case of Punjab's International Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambian, Jalandhar Police arrested NRI and Kabaddi Promoter Surjanjit Singh Chatha on Wednesday night. Surjanjit Singh Chatha who is said to be a big Kabaddi promoter was arrested after Sandeep Nangal Ambian's wife Rupinder Kaur's appeal. As per reports., Sandeep Nangal Ambian's wife Rupinder Kaur went live on social media 6 months ago and appealed to the Punjab Police to arrest Chatha who is in Kartar Palace, Jalandhar. However, the Police at that time could not arrest Surjanjit Singh Chatha. Now, a video of Gurjanjit Singh Chatha's arrest is doing rounds on social media in which the Kabaddi promoter can be seen screaming while the Police officials in civil dresses can be seen carrying him outside his living area. It is pertinent to mention here that, Police official in the known development has confirmed to True Scoop News that Surjanjit Singh Chatha has been arrested in the Sandeep Nangal Ambian's murder case.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sandeep Nangal's wife Rupinder had accused the Police of not taking action during her live session. As per Rupinder, she had informed the SSP that the accused in the murder of Sandeep Nangal was staying at Kartar Palace, Jalandhar. However, due to a lack of evidence, the Police at that did not arrest Surjanjit.

Surjanjit Singh Chatta, head of the North India Kabaddi Federation, has dominated kabaddi for a long time as a promoter. He was shot dead by five assailants in Mallian village of Nakodar on March 14 last year. The incident took place around 6 pm when Sandeep had reached the village for the ongoing tournament. There was chaos in the stadium due to indiscriminate firing in the middle of the match. As per reports, approx 20 rounds were fired upon Sandeep.
