It is expected that a final call will be made regarding the conduction of the JEE-Mains (engineering entrance examination) and the NEET (medical entrance test) in the upcoming days.
According to the reports it was stated that the National Testing Agency (NTA) is most likely to propose a decision regarding conducting the JEE-Mains (engineering entrance examination) and the NEET (medical entrance test) before July 6, Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday.
NTA is in the process of finalizing its proposal for JEE and NEET exam dates. It will be presented before Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Tuesday (July 6). A decision will be made thereafter,” quoted sources as saying.
Reports stated that based on the proposal given by the National Testing Agency (NTA), particular dates will be given for the conduction of the JEE and the NEET examinations.

Previously, the reports had informed that the pending sessions of JEE Main 2021 are to be conducted at the end of July or August with 14 days gap between the two exams, and NEET is mostly likely to be postponed to September.
However, the National Testing Agency has made no such official announcement yet.
From the current academic session, due to COVID-19 JEE-Main is going to be conducted four times a year which offers students flexibility and more chance to improve their scores as well as rank. The first exam was held in February and was followed by the second one in March, while the next phases were scheduled for April and May. But the exams were postponed during the second wave, after the steady rise in the number of COVID-19 cases of the pandemic in the nation.
The exam which is conducted for the admission of the students to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology and the National Institutes of Technology, JEE-Advanced was also postponed. The exam was scheduled for July 3.
As per the public notice dated March 12, 2021, the NEET (UG) 2021 exam is scheduled to be held on August 1. But the registration for the examination, which was supposed to begin on May 1, was suspended; it is expected that the exam will get postponed to a later date, which is most likely to be in September.
