A 43-year-old Covid patient was raped by a male nurse at a government hospital in Bhopal and she died within 24 hours, as per a statement released by the police on Thursday. The shocking incident was made public after a month following the arrest of the suspect.
Her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to a ventilator. She died in the late evening on the same day.

The complaint was registered at the Nishatpura Police Station and the identified accused Santosh Ahirwar was arrested. He has been kept at the Bhopal Central Jail.
Senior officer Irshad Wali told that the victim had requested not to reveal her identity to anyone that is why the information is shared by the investigating team only.
As per the reports, the accused had sexually assaulted a 24-years-old staff nurse in the past, and also has faced suspension for drinking during his job hours.

The victim who died was a survivor of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy 1984.
