The Olympic was put off due to the pandemic and there were rumors that the Olympic will be postponed further. However, the Tokyo 2020 President Yokshiro Mori said, "We'll certainly go ahead however the coronavirus (pandemic) evolves."
In a meeting of Olympic organizers where members of ruling party of Japan were also present, Mori said, "We must go beyond discussion about whether we will hold it or not. It's about how we will do it. Let's think about a new kind of Olympics on this occasion."
The comments come at a time when the ministers and members are of the view that games can be organized despite Covid-19 restrictions. Organisers are expected to outline the measures taken to counter Covid-19 in the wake of Olympic 2021.
All the major games were pushed on another date due to the pandemic induced lockdown and rise in infections across the globe. According to a public survey, 80% of the people in Japan want postponement or cancellation of the games.
However, organizers are of the view that neither of the options are before them. So, the Olympic will happen this summer.
