On his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the nation urging people to get rid of the vaccine hesitancy and said that the Covid threat remains, hence we have to focus on vaccination. He urged the countrymen to get vaccinated in large numbers.
“Please get rid of fear. Sometimes people may get a fever but it is very mild & lasts only for a few hours. Avoiding (#COVID19) vaccine can be very dangerous. You’re not only putting yourself at risk but also your family & the entire village,” he said.
He spoke that he has been fully vaccinated and cited the example of his mother, underlining that vaccines are safe.
Cautioning against rumours regarding vaccines, Modi requested people to trust science and India's scientists.

- PM Modi remembers sports icon Milkha Singh and said he captured India's imagination. "When talking about the Olympics, how can we not remember Milkha Singh Ji. When he was hospitalised, I got a chance to speak to him. I had requested him to motivate the athletes going for the Tokyo Olympics": PM Modi. He also used hashtag on Twitter #Cheers4India on social media.
- During his address Modi said that the lives of the players participating in the Tokyo Olympics are an inspiration for many people in India and around the world.
- Modi spoke about archer Pravin Jadhav whom he called a fantastic archer and comes from Maharashtra’s Satara district. His parents work as labourers and now Jadhav is going to participate in his first #Olympics in Tokyo,” he said.
- Satisfied with vaccine speed as about 5.6% of adults in the country have been covered by 2 doses, PM said. On Saturday the PMO’s office had said that 128 districts in the country have inoculated over 50 per cent of the 45+ population against Covid-19.

"The battle we the countrymen are fighting against corona is continuing…but in this fight, together, we've achieved many extraordinary milestones! Just a few days ago, our country accomplished an unprecedented feat," he said.
- PM Modi encouraged people to put an end to vaccine hesitancy, citing that the elf has been fully vaccinated and his mother has got the job as well. Highlighted how the centre has made huge efforts to ramp up the vaccination drive.
- During his address, the Prime Minister has also said that people from the villages of India who have shown their strength and understanding during the coronavirus will become a case study.

- He urged people to not believe in any negative rumours relating to vaccines and said people should also encourage others to get vaccinated. He underlined that scientists have worked very hard to come up with vaccines and it is very safe.
- PM Modi further said that the Covid threat has not gone and we have to focus on vaccination. "Those who are spreading rumours on vaccines, let them be. We all will do our work and ensure people around us get vaccinated. The threat of Covid remains and we have to focus on vaccination as well as follow COVID-19 protocols,” he said.
- Ahead of the Chartered Accountants Day on July 1, Modi extended wishes to all the CAs in the country. He also added that CA Community should attempt to build top quality firms that are Indian.
- PM Modi also pointed out water conservation and said it can be seen as 'service to the nation'.
