Taking to Twitter, Bansuri Swaraj, the daughter of former external affairs minister, celebrated her mother’s birth anniversary. She also appealed to the people to help and support others in remembrance of the legendary BJP leader and celebrate the day together.
Sushma Swaraj died suffering a cardiac arrest on August 6, 2019, at the age of 67.
Bansuri wrote, ‘Happy Birthday Ma. The cake tastes bland now. The true figure of love and compassion. Come let’s celebrate her birthday by helping others.”
Swaraj was a globally respected statesman who served in many positions and was not only committed to just the government but to the goodwill of the country. She was known for her wit and intelligence. People loved her for her selfless service to the people of the nation and courageous demeanour.
The Padma Vibhushan awardee was titled "Supermom of India" by Washington Post for rescuing thousands of Indians from foreign lands.
“Even if you are stuck on Mars, the Indian Embassy there will help you” one of the most popular tweets of Sushma was not only hailed by people but showed how determined she was to rescue its citizens from the distant corners of the universe. Her tweets were full of amusement.

Swaraj began her political career as a Member of Legislative Assembly in the year 1977 Haryana elections and served in many posts, including the chief minister of Delhi. In the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, Swaraj acted as the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and liberated the Indian film sector by declaring it as an industry and allowing banks to grant it loans.
