On Video Call, Former CM Praksah Singh Badal takes stock of Sukhbir’s health

After testing positive for Covid19, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Badal on the very next day was admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

Sukhbir then took to twitter to share the information. In his message, he wrote, "I would like to inform everyone that I have tested Covid positive. My health is fine and as per protocol I have isolated myself”.

The SAD has already cancelled all its political rallies slated for this month in view of rising covid cases in Punjab.

Meanwhile, to take stock of the health condition of his son Sukhbir Badal, the former CM Punjab Prakash Singh Badal, had a video call with him. The picture of father-son on either side of the call is being widely shared on the social media sites.

Also, the covid19 cases in Punjab are rising each passing day. According to the Health Ministry too, Punjab is one of the five states exhibiting a steep rise in daily numbers.

In addition clamping down heavily on the fresh Covid surge in state, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday ordered massive state-wide restrictions beginning tomorrow, with closure of educational institutions till March 31 and restrictions on cinema/mall capacities.

All educational institutions, other than medical and nursing colleges, will remain closed till March 31, with restriction of 50% capacity in cinema halls and not more than 100 persons in a mall at any time.

CM also appealed to the people to keep social activity in their houses to the bare minimum for the next 2 weeks to break the transmission chain. Not more than 10 visitors should be entertained in homes, he urged.
