Open AI announced on Tuesday that a limited number of subscribers can now access ChatGPT's advanced Voice Mode. OpenAI first announced the functionality during their Spring event in May.
Driven by the latest GPT-4o artificial intelligence (AI) model, OpenAI's powerful Voice Mode offers features including real-time answers, lifelike voice, and the ability to recognise the user's emotions.
Steps to access OpenAI Voice Mode for ChatGPT
Step 1: Open ChatGPT app on iOS or Android
Step 2: You must have received an invite that says, "You're invited to try Advanced Voice Mode". Press the blue Continue button.
Step 3: The ChatGPT home screen now shows up. It would resemble the standard ChatGPT UI that you may be accustomed to. The Voice button (black and white) in the lower right corner, however, is a recent addition. Press it.
Step 4: When you tap it, the ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode user interface (UI) appears as a large, solid black circle. That circle figure animates and changes shape as you start engaging with it or when it speaks to you.
Tapping the mic button in the lower left corner will mute or unmute your microphone. To end the discussion, hit the red cross icon located in the bottom right corner.
For ChatGPT to function, you must allow it to use your microphone.
Who can use ChatGPT's OpenAI Voice Mode?
Advanced Voice Mode is being rolled out by OpenAI for a limited number of ChatGPT Plus subscribers. If it meets the safety and reliability requirements, the company plans to extend the distribution to all ChatGPT Plus subscribes in the autumn.
Is it free to utilise OpenAI Voice Mode?
It is not free to use the OpenAI Voice Mode. Users of ChatGPT Plus can access it. The monthly fee for the Plus account is $20, or around Rs 1,674.50.
Additionally, the Advanced Voice Mode has a daily limit and notifies you when you have three minutes remaining for audio. After that, ChatGPT will revert to the voice mode that is standard.
