The 97th Academy Awards ceremony is presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan are the executive producers. Oscars 2025 will be honouring movies released in 2024. This ceremony will be broadcasted LIVE in more than 200 territories all across the world.
Voting for around 10,000 Academy members had opened on 8th January 2025 and was initially set to close on 12th January. However, due to the Southern California wildfires, the deadline for Oscar nomination voting was further extended to 17th January. Additionally, the nominations announcement which was scheduled to be announced on 17th January, got delayed to 23rd January.
Who is hosting Oscars 2025?
Emmy Award-winning television host, writer, producer and comedian Conan O’Brien will be hosting Oscars 2025. Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang expressed their excitement and said, “We are thrilled and honored to have the incomparable Conan O’Brien host the Oscars this year."
"He is the perfect person to help lead our global celebration of film with his brilliant humour, his love of movies, and his live TV expertise. His remarkable ability to connect with audiences will bring viewers together to do what the Oscars do best honour the spectacular films and filmmakers of this year," they added.
When and where to watch Oscars 2025?
Oscars 2025 will be held on Sunday, 2nd March at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. It will be broadcasted LIVE on ABC and distributed globally. Fans can also watch it on Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, AT&T TV and Fubo TV. Notably, this LIVE broadcast marks a first for the Oscars.
When and where to watch Oscars 2025 in India?
The 97th Academy Awards will air LIVE on ABC on 2nd March 2, at 7 pm ET, that is, at 5:30 am in India. Additionally, the official live red-carpet show will get broadcasted at 6:30 pm ET that is, at 5 am in India.
The recent wildfires have delayed multiple pre-Oscar events. Adressing this issue, Academy Museum of Motion Pictures tweeted, “As the safety of our staff and visitors is our top priority, the Academy Museum & Fanny's will be closed on Friday, January 10.
