OTT Releases This Week (April 7 onwards)
1) Black Mirror: Season 7
Undoubtedly among the much-awaited globally renowned series of the year, Black Mirror: Season 7 will be released on Netflix on April 8, 2025. The official synopsis of Black Mirror: Season 7 reads, "Lose your mind. Lose your reality. The Emmy Award-winning series returns with six new stories. Nothing is as it seems." Created by Charlie Brooker, Black Mirror: Season 7 will be the extension of Season 6. It is basically a satirical anthology series that explores techno-paranoia with captivating stories set in the modern world. It features Milanka Brooks as Elena Tulaska, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Patsy Ferran, Paul Giamatti, etc.
2) Chhorii 2
Amazon Prime Video on Saturday released Chhorii 2 Trailer and it has indeed sent chills down the spine of fans. Directed by Vishal Furia, Chhorii 2 is the sequel on Amazon Prime Video's hit horror thriller titled Chhorii. Chhorii 2 will see the return of Nushrratt Bharuccha in the lead role. Apart from Nushrratt Bharuccha, Chhorii 2 features Soha Ali Khan, Saurabh Goyal, Gashmeer Mahajani, Pallavi Ajay, Kuldeep Sareen, and Hardika Sharma in the key roles. Chhorii 2 starring Nushrratt Bharuccha, Soha Ali Khan, etc will be released on Amazon Prime Video on April 11, 2025.
3) Chhaava
After making waves at the box office, Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal will take the OTT by storm in April. Slated to be released on April 11 on Netflix, Chhaava is the true story of the son of the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj- Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Ace actor Akshaye Khanna plays the antagonist Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Due to its historical context and current political scenario, Chhaava has become one of the highest grossing movies of India.
4) Doctor Who Season 2
After its global success, the much-awaited series Doctor Who Season 2 will be released in India on JioHotstar on April 12, 2025. The official synopsis of the character i.e. Doctor Who reads, "Step inside the TARDIS and embark on an epic journey through time and space. From the Doctor's first adventure in 1963 through countless regenerations, here you will find iconic moments, behind the scenes footage, exclusive content and more! The series will feature Ncuti Gatwa playing Doctor Who in another exciting season of Doctor Who, meeting new friends, monsters, and enemies.
5) The Gardener
Slated to be released on Netflix on April 11, 2025; The Gardener is a thriller that features Álvaro Rico, Cecilia Suárez, and Catalina Sopelana in key roles. The Gardener's official synopsis reads, "His lack of emotions makes Elmer the perfect hitman—something his mother has exploited for years. But everything changes when Elmer falls in love with his next target. Will that love be the grave he digs for himself?" To be precise, the mystery thriller tells the story of Elmer, a young man, whose mother, La China Jurado, exploits his emotional detachment to turn him into a hitman.
