Pakistan Cricket Team Captain Babar Azam on Thursday broke the internet apparently after he picked out a unique shot from his stroke-making textbook against Sri Lanka in the second Test. Pakistan on Thursday defeated Sri Lanka at Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo by an innings and 222 runs. Courtesy of Abdullah Shafique's double century and Noman Ali's seven-wicket haul, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka and sealed the series 2-0. Although there were many positives for Pakistan in the Test series against Sri Lanka, it was Babar Azam's 'unique shot' that went viral on social media. Babar Azam fans shared a clip of the Pakistani captain who was seen trying to leave the ball, however, ended up playing a shot that went past the third man for a boundary.
Although the commentators believed that Babar Azam was in two minds to whether leave the ball or not and ended up playing a shot, hi fans contradicted this by sharing the Pakistani cricket net session video in which he played the exact similar shot. During his innings, Babar hit a boundary off Asitha Fernando, that was cheeky to say the least. Azam looked in twio minds as he flicked to steer the ball through the slips. While many in social media, though it was a fluke, some posted videos that Azam practised the shot during practice. However, Babar could not perform well against Sri Lanka in Tests and his struggle against Prabath Jayasuriya was cleary evident.

Ayesha Naseem Retirement reason: Why Pakistan's woman cricketer quit sports at 18?
Babar Azam played that shot intentionally and guided it for four. Root and Williamson play it too! Babar has mastered it and can play it whenever he wants to 💚

Commentators don't follow Babar in the nets and it shows, they don't know a thing 👎 #SLvPAK https://t.co/4iyVqnmGgH pic.twitter.com/5JRkMb1W5n
Coming back to Pakistan vs Sri Lanka's 2nd Test, Salman played attacking cricket to reinforce Pakistan's new aggressive style in this series and reached his second Test ton with a boundary. Shafique led the mammoth reply in response to Sri Lanka's 166 as he put on three century stands including a 124-run sixth-wicket partnership with Salman. Shafique, who began the day on 87, reached 200 in the final session with a single off Asitha Fernando, taking off his helmet and pointing to his name on the back of his jersey.
During the post match presentation, Babar Azam said, "Very proud to win the series, all credit to the boys and the coaching staff who've worked hard from the last 3-4 months. Everyone put in their efforts for us to win the series. We ticked all the boxes, we worked hard on batting and fielding, not a lot of it in the pitch for the pacers, but they bowled really well in both Tests. This is a team game, Saud in the first Test and Abdullah here were outstanding. We are taking it series by series and will try to perform at our best. We have a plan, we decided to play positive cricket and play up to our strengths, we want an improvement of at least 5-10%, it's not easy to win here, but I think we dominated them in both matches."
