Pakistani PM asks citizens to 'be prepared for all eventualities'

Pakistani PM Imran Khan, after India's air strike in Balakot, has asked the armed forces and the citizens of Pakistan to remain “prepared for all eventualities". According to PTI reports, the statement came after an emergency meeting to review the situation. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi who said India has committed “aggression” by violating the LoC and Islamabad has “right to self-defence”, is expected to brief the media later today.

“This action has been done for domestic consumption being in an election environment, putting regional peace and stability at grave risk. The claimed area of the strike is open for the world to see the facts on the ground. For this domestic and international media is being taken to the impact site. The forum concluded that India has committed uncalled for aggression to which Pakistan shall respond at the time and place of its choosing”, a government statement was quoted as saying.

On Monday, a top Pakistan Army official said that his country armed forces are “fully prepared” for a befitting response to “any Indian aggression or misadventure”.
