Days after his government announced a sweeping crackdown against Islamist militant organisations, on Friday, Pakistan PM Imran Khan said that no terror groups would be allowed to operate from Pakistani soil to carry out attacks abroad.

Since the deadly Pulwama attack in India's J&K, Pakistan is constantly facing immense international pressures to curb the activities of Islamist groups that are responsible for the attacks. Pakistan based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed the responsibility of the Pulwama Attack which took the precious lives of 40 CRPF jawans. Following the attack, both the countries had carried out aerial bombing on each other. Big international nations including the US and Britain are urging Pakistan to act against anti-India terror groups. Pakistan since the Pulwama attack, has denied Indian accusations it actively supports terrorists fighting the forces in Kashmir.

Paksitan on Monday had announced a crackdown against terror groups and had banned 182 religious schools run by banned groups had been seized and as many as 120 people have been detained. "This government will not allow Pakistan land to be used for any kind of outside terrorism..God willing, you will see that a new era is emerging”, Khan said while addressing a rally in southern Pakistan.

In the past also, Pakistan had made similar pledges to stop attacks being launched from its soil, notably in the early 2002, after a raid by Pakistani-based terrorists on India parliament brought the two countries to the brink of war.
