The Legend of Maula Jatt India Release Banned, The Legend of Maula Jatt Punjab Release Banned: Pakistani blockbuster movie The Legend of Maula Jatt will not be released in India anymore. Yes! you heard it right. The Legend of Maula Jatt Ban in India has been extended amid political parties warning multiplexes and theaters of dire consequences. Raj Thackeray's party MNS had warned the theaters and multiplexes to not release The Legend of Maula Jatt. For the unversed, Zee India had collaborated with Pakistani film-makers to release The Legend of Maula Jatt in India's Punjab. The Legend of Maula Jatt was supposed to release in Punjab on October 2, 2024. But, now it will not be released in Punjab or any states of India.
Why The Legend of Maula Jatt is not releasing in India?
Nadeem Mandviwalla was quoted by a news wire saying that an Indian ministry has obtained a stay order from a court against the release of the film so the screening is now stalled. Nadeem Mandviwalla is one of the top distributors, exhibitors, and cinema owners in Pakistan. “Unfortunately its release has once again been stalled and there is nothing anyone can do until the court gives its decision,” Mandviwalla said adding, "I am pretty sure given the quality and efforts put into the making of the film and its brilliant cast, Maula Jatt will be a big hit in Indian Punjab."
For the unversed, on September 18, film's director Bilal Lashari announced the movie will be released in the Indian state of Punjab by Zee Studios in collaboration with Zindagi, which also brought Fawad back to audiences in India with its latest show Barzakh. Now, the movie won't be released in India.
It is pertinent to mention here that India banned the export of Indian films to Pakistan after the Pulwama incident in 2019 and the Pakistan government in a tit-for-tat response also banned screening of Indian films in the country.
