Former Punjab CM Charanjit Channi is once again embroiled in controversy for making a questionable statement. The Congress candidate for Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat had raised questions on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a press conference at his home on Saturday morning, Channi announced that after the formation of Congress government, they will open the Wagah border of Punjab. So that people of Pakistan can come to Punjab for treatment. Channi said that this will boost medical tourism in Jalandhar.
Raising questions about the PM Modi’s rally in Jalandhar, Channi had said that PM Narendra Modi's rally was a complete flop. People were called from eight districts, but still only 2 to 2.5 thousand people could be mobilized. Channi said that this shows what is the position of BJP in Punjab and how much people will vote for them.
