Parents in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh sell their 12 year old daughter for Rs 10,000 to raise money for the treatment of her sibling who is 16 years old.
The incident was known by Thursday but as per reports, it happened on Wednesday.
Local people had alerted the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS). The girl was rescued form a man named Chinna Subbaiah.
The man had claimed that he (46) got married with the minor. The police is reported to have arrested the man. Claims are that he offered previously also to buy the 12 year old girl. The parents of the girl are daily wage workers.
Subbaiah got separated from his wife after a discord. The child was heard screaming and crying by the local people who alerted the ICDS.
Child has been shifted to a district childcare center and an official said that neighbors informed them that the man accepted everything as if there was nothing wrong in it.
