Bollywood actress Richa Chadha on Monday filed a case before Bombay High Court for Rs 1.10 crore against Payal for "tarnishing her reputation" and subjecting her to "immense humiliation, ridicule, unwanted speculation, harassment, harsh public scrutiny and loss of business opportunity and goodwill thereby causing tremendous stress and mental agony."
The Bombay High Court on Wednesday had come up for hearing in the ₹ 1.1 crore suit filed by Richa Chadha against actress Payal Ghosh. During the proceedings, Justice AK Menon asked the actor's lawyer if she wished to withdraw her statements against Ms. Chadha.
Payal Ghosh's lawyer Nitin Satpute said to the Bombay High Court, "She said it innocently. She is a big follower of the plaintiff (Chadha) and respects her. She is ready to withdraw the statement and tender apology. She regrets whatever she said and her intention was never to defame any woman."

While the case was also against Kamaal R Khan. Bombay HC asks the lawyer of Kamaal R Khan if he was willing to withdraw the comments. Lawyer seeks time to take instructions saying that his client was not in India. Court records the submission of Kamaal Khan's lawyer that he will not share any content relating to Richa Chadha till Monday
The bench of Justice A K Menon passes a temporary order of injunction (John Doe) restraining news portals from sharing the defamatory content against Richa Chadha till Monday (Oct 12). Payal Ghosh asked to work on the settlement with Richa by Monday.
