In a big win for Bollywood actress Richa Chadha in the Bombay High Court, actress Payal Ghosh has tendered an unconditional apology to Richa Chadha before the Bombay High Court in the form of an undertaking and suit is disposed of.
Richa Chadha had filed a defamation case against Payal Ghosh after she dragged the Richa's name while accusing Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment. The actress had also filed a case against Kamaal R Khan for maligning her image.
The Bombay High court on Monday granted two days to Payal and Richa for filing their content terms to settle the matter in court. Earlier, Payal Ghosh had tweeted saying, “am not apologizing to anyone. I have not wronged nor have I given a wrong statement about anyone. I just said what @anuragkashyap told me #SorryNotSorry'.'
A bench of Justice A K Menon recorded that Richa Chadha and Payal Ghosh have reached a settlement. The lawyer of Kamaal R Khan, another defendant in Richa's suit, told the Bombay High Court that he will not make any public comments against Richa on the basis of defamatory remarks and adds that he will make a public statement to that effect.
Dr. Tulzapurkar, Richa's lawyer, submitted that the news channel ABN Telugu should withdraw all their reports against her which are based on Ghosh's remarks. Channel's lawyer said that it will act as per the court's injunction.
