In a shocking development, at least 32 people were killed and over 150 were injured after a mega explosion rocked Peshawar city of Pakistan on Monday, January 30. The blast occurred in a mosque in Peshawar while the prayers were going on. As per media reports, the Peshawar blasts took place via suicide bombing. The peshawar suicide bombing took place during afternoon prayers at around 1:40 pm near Peshawar’s Police Lines area. Several people have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition and the death toll from the attack is expected to rise. There are multiple videos have been going viral on social media which show how Peshawar suicide bombing was brutal in nature.

In one of the Peshawar Suicide Bombing video, a footage was shot from inside the mosque showed debris on the ground. One side of the mosque collapsed due to the impact of the blast. Another video shows, a total chaos in Peshawar after the bomb blast. As per Pakistani media reports, security officials stated that suicide attacker was present in the front row during the prayers when he exploded himself. According to Mohammad Asim, spokesperson of the Lady Reading Hospital (LRC), the authorities have completely sealed the area and only ambulances are being allowed to enter the locality.

In the wake of the attack, the Health Department of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa declared a medical emergency following the blast. All the doctors and staff of government health facilities in Peshawar have been directed to remain on alert till further orders. The hospital has urged citizens to donate blood for the victims. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the blast. Shehbaz Sharif said that the attackers responsible for the blast inside the mosque “have nothing to do with Islam”.

As of now, no terror organizations have taken responsibility. However, Pakistan and TTP have been at the loggerheads from the past few months.
