Congress leaders have filed a petition in the SDM court against five councilors including Aam Aadmi Party's senior deputy mayor Balbir Singh Bittu.
In the petition it is claimed that there are some information missing in the documents of the said councillors. Yet their nominations were not cancelled before the elections. The legal cell of Congress has alleged that the said councilors have rigged the elections.
Manga Singh Muddar, Congress candidate from ward number 10, has filed a petition in the SDM court against Balbir Singh Bittu, who has been made senior deputy mayor by the Aam Aadmi Party. Not only this, his wife Karamjit Kaur is also a councilor from ward number 11. A voter named Anil Kumar has filed a petition against her as well.
It is said in the petition that the nomination of both the councilors was not filled in the correct manner, there are many flaws in it. It is alleged that the affidavit in the nomination of both was not notarized.
In the petition filed by independent candidate Shivnath Shibbu, who lost from ward number 48 in the municipal corporation elections, he has accused Aam Aadmi Party councilor Harjinder Singh Lada of rigging during voting. Shibbu himself contested the elections from the said ward and lost by one vote.
Former councilor and leader of Congress' legal cell Ravi Saini has filed a petition against councillor Ashwani Agarwal. Ravi Saini has alleged that AAP candidate, current councilor Ashwani Agarwal in connivance with the district administration has rigged 400 votes.
In addition, a petition has been filed in the SDM court by Satish Dheer, who was a Congress candidate from Ward-24. In the petition, he has accused AAP councilor Amit Dhall of not giving correct information in the nomination and also of hiding the data of the registered FIR.
