You will now have to cope with shorter timings for getting your vehicle refueled in Punjab as petrol pumps have decided to strike against the continuous hike in the price of petrol and diesel. Punjab’s petrol pump would operate for just 10 hours, from 7 am to 5 pm, for 15 days – from November 7 to November 21.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Punjab Petroleum Dealers Association held at Sutlej Club, Ludhiana. The meet was attended by around 50 petrol pump owners and Association's Manjit Singh, Ashok Sachdeva, Monty Sehgal were also present.
Reportedly, in the meeting, Association President Paramjit Singh Doaba said that due to the increase in the price of fuels, petrol pump owners are dealing with high input costs. Therefore, to decrease their expenditure the association has decided to open the petrol pumps for a few hours, rather than 24 hours.
According to the association, this change will commence from November 7 and would end on November 21 and if the government would not take a step in favour of the petrol pump owner in 15 days, then on November 22, the petrol pumps will be closed for the whole day.
