Polling for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 held successfully in all 542 parliamentary seats including 13 seats each in UP and Punjab, 9 in west Bengal, 8 seats each in Bihar and MP, all 4 constituencies of Himachal Pradesh, 3 in Jharkhand and 1 in Chandigarh.
The 2019 Lok Sabha Election saw many more women casting their vote than in 2014 elections, with little difference between male and female sliding to just 0.4% from 1.4% in 2014. The overall turnout of 64.2% was 2 percentage lower than 2014.
As per Deputy Election Commissioner, Umesh Sinha, “The gap between turnout of male and female voters has narrowed down significantly from 9% in 2009 to only 0.4% in this election. It was 1.4% in 2014.”

The EC officials said more than 90 crore citizens were registered to vote in this Lok Sabha Elections. Sinha said that the 2019 elections were more peaceful, including in Jammu & Kashmir and Maoist-affected areas, than in 2014.
In the ultimate phase of polling on Sunday, Madhya Pradesh recorded the highest turnout at 75.5% in comparison to 66.87% in 2014. It was 73.51% against 79.15% during in last ls elections in West-Bengal. 71.16% compared to 68.87% in 2014 in Jharkhand. Turnout in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday was 70.62% than 65.06% during last ls elections.
Chandigarh saw maximum immerse in voter turnout at 63.57% as compared to 73.84% in 2014. In Punjab poll percentage witness decline from 70.89% in 2014 to 65.77%. Voting percentage was highest in Bengal with 73.51 per cent and lowest in Bihar with 53.55 per cent people voting.
Election Commission also said that preventive steps were also taken in west Bengal where nearly 2,800 rowdies were detained, who could be possible trouble-maker. Over 400 quick response teams were expanded by Sinha so that they could reach any trouble spot within 10 minutes.
