Introduction
A fitness influencer aged 19, Kuwar Amritbir Singh has lots going for him. His achievements at such a young age inspire you and I.
Accolades
Singh has been nominated for Karmaveer Chakra Awards 2020 – 2021, World Records India holder for 118 Knuckle Pushups in 1 minute at the age of 17, and India book of Records holder for 35 Superman Pushups in 30 Seconds at age of 18.
Future plans
Not one to be satisfied, he will be coming to Punjabi entertainment industry as an action hero. But this will not be his first time with the camera. He has done two short movies (available on YouTube) in lead role to promote fitness.
Education
Not surprisingly, he is pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, and he intends to make his mark in the fitness world.
How did it all began?
Singh’s love for excellence in physical fitness began when was 16, “Watching movies and content on stunts always thrilled me. Seeing my favourite actors doing callisthenics, I also wanted to try the same. Hence, I started with pushups. My day starts around 5.30 am, followed by two-hours workout. In the evening, I prefer to do cross fit workouts to keep myself agile.”
Expensive gym, personal trainer?
His impeccable physique has not been attained in some air-conditioned and trainer-led expensive gym. His make-shift gym at his cattle-shelter at his home in village Umarwala, Gurdaspur, Punjab is the place where gunny bags full of sand and cemented plastic cans serve as his equipment.
No dreams of moving abroad
Now, there is something about this man which separates him from his fellow Punjabis. He claims that he does not harbour love for foreign lands like Canada, UK, Australia, or USA.
Instead, “I want to encourage youth to do something different in life. I try to motivate people to take up healthy lifestyle. Become an ambassador for your own cause, as that’s the only way you can make a difference.”
What can you and I learn?
Discipline of mind and body are the two enablers that will get us the body we desire.
Singh does not spend his time or money on gyms, but does what is required, so you and I need to get our act together, and exercise regularly.
Of course, we may not be able to lift as much weight as Singh, but we all have to start somewhere, right?
So, beginning or resuming our exercise regime will be a dedication to Kuwar Amritbir Singh and will probably make him happy too as he wants to spread the message of physical fitness.
