The God of Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday announced on Twitter that he has tested positive for covid. With this tweet going viral, England's former cricketer Kevin Pieterson gave a controversial response by questioning the "need to announce it to the world" on having covid. In no time the former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh responded by giving a befitting reply to Peterson's remark.
On Saturday, Sachin Tendulkar issued a statement saying, "I get myself tested frequently for corona and take all necessary precautions to protect myself. However, today after experiencing mild symptoms, my covid test report came positive. Other members of my house have received a negative report. I have isolated myself in my house and as per my doctor’s advice, I am following all protocols."
After Sachin's statement, Kevin Pieterson tweeted and questioned the need to announce to the world on being covid positive.
Peiterson's tweet did not go down well with Yuvraj Singh, who immediately countered the tweet by asking him why he thought of this today and not before.
After this Pieterson clarified that he was not aware of Sachin Tendulkar being infected with the covid virus and apologised for his earlier tweet. He also wished him for his quick recovery.
Along with Yuvraj Singh, a lot of people on social media reacted to Kevin Peiterson's tweet and several others also pointed out the coincidence of Pietersen’s tweet, which came hours after Sachin’s announcement.

After which Peiterson said that his question was simple and did not intend to hurt anyone's sentiments. He also said that he got the answer to his question as to why people announce their covid positive result to the world. This is so that the other people who came in contact with the patient can get themselves tested.
After Sachin Tendulkar, former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan also tweeted that he has tested positive for corona and has quarantined himself. He also requested those who came in contact with him to get tested.
